The picture on the right shows a very cuddly koala clinging to Mai as we had a souvenir photo taken at the “Hug a Koala” booth in Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane. The sanctuary is the first and largest of its kind, housing over 130 koalas from kindergarten to retirees. In the sanctuary, you can hug a koala but only for a limited time as they easily get very tired and sleepy. You can also pat and feed the kangaroos in your hands inside their den. They are very gentle and tame. Taz, the Tasmanian devil, was also there. But we didn’t get to meet him up close because he was snoring, fast asleep. Check out our photo gallery for more pictures.
